Different Types of Best Acoustic Guitar

The acoustic guitar defers from the normal electric guitar simply because one uses electronic amplification while the other does not. However, the acoustic guitar can have nylon or gut strings, steel strings. You can also get a guitar, acoustic electric model.

Traditional acoustic guitars use a soundboard with a resonant cavity called a sound box. As the board vibrates, the sound box will maximise the intensity of the sound. Sound can also be increased by using magnetic pickups or a microphone. The shape of the soundboard dictates the sound. Thinner boards give a louder sound. The material and shape of the guitar affects such effects as damping, phase and resonating.

Of the primary types, you will also find that the Renaissance guitar has nylon or gut strings, the Baroque will be gut stringed and smaller, the Flamenco will be light and small and include a tap plate. Steel stringed guitars may be known as a folk, western, country guitar and have a louder sound.

A twelve stringed guitar will produce more harmonious sounds, a resonator guitar as the name suggests, includes metal cone resonators. The arch top guitar has a distinctive arched top, the battente guitar is popular in Italy, the lap steel guitar will have the strings raised at the nut and bridge ends. There are many other types of such as the Lyre, acoustic bass guitar, Russian guitar, Harp guitar and the Banjo guitar.
