Left Handed Acoustic Electric Guitar Info

Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat

If you are left handed and looking for a left handed acoustic electric guitar be aware you are joining the ranks of some very well known musicians – Jimi Hendrix and Paul McCartney to name but two.

Left handed guitars mirror completely the traditional right handed models. It is possible to turn a right handed guitar into a left handed one by reversing the strings and adjusting the nuts and bridge. This is fiddly and as left handed guitars can be found at a more competitive price today and therefore possibly the better option.

Thankfully today, a left handed guitar is more easily commercially available, unlike a few years ago when they had to be custom made and therefore were more expensive. A left handed acoustic guitar can be found from some of the top producers such as fender, Simon, Faith, Yamaha and Gibson.

Learning to play a left handed acoustic electric guitar is a bit different as well, one useful book is Mel Bay Left handed Guitar Chords by William Bay or perhaps Guitar Case Guide to Left Handed Chords by Rikky Rooksby.
